Start with entry-level and trainee roles

Look for roles built for people starting out — "junior", "assistant", "trainee", intern and part-time positions. Filtering for these saves you applying to jobs that demand years of experience.

Build a CV even with no work history

Lead with your education, then courses, projects, volunteering and any practical skills. Show what you can do and your willingness to learn, not just where you have worked. A clear, honest one-page CV is plenty at this stage.

A student might list a course project, a university event they helped organise, or a small freelance task — all of it is real evidence that you can do the work.

Highlight transferable skills

You already have skills employers want — you just need to name them: communication, languages, computer skills, teamwork, reliability and a willingness to learn. Give a short example of each where you can.
