Average Salaries in Uzbekistan
How much should a job pay in Uzbekistan? This guide covers the real numbers from official statistics, what changes them, and how to find the going rate for your own role before you negotiate.
The big picture
According to the National Statistics Committee, the average nominal monthly salary in Uzbekistan was about 6.4 million som in 2025, and it has been rising roughly 18–19% a year. It is highest in Tashkent — around 10.7 million som — and lower in the regions, roughly 4.5–7.9 million.
Treat these as averages only: your sector, role and experience matter far more than the national figure.
The minimum wage
The official minimum wage from January 2026 is about 1.27 million som per month. It is set by the government and updated periodically, and no legal job should pay below it.
Gross vs net — what actually reaches you
Salaries are usually quoted gross (before tax). Income tax is a flat 12%, plus a 1% pension contribution — so about 13% is deducted and you take home roughly 87% of the gross figure. Always check whether an offer is "до вычета" (gross) or "на руки" (net).
What moves your salary
A few factors explain most of the difference between two people with the same job title:
- experience and a track record of results
- sector — finance and IT pay well above average; education and healthcare often below
- city — Tashkent pays noticeably more than most regions
- in-demand skills and language ability (English especially)
Find the going rate for YOUR role
Averages will not tell you what a specific job pays. The fastest way to find the real market rate is to look at current vacancies for your role and city that show a salary range. On platforms like Flexa many listings display the salary, so you can compare a dozen in a few minutes.
Look at five to ten listings rather than one — a single number can be an outlier, and your realistic target is the middle of the range.
Negotiate sensibly
Research first, decide your range, and discuss pay once there is mutual interest. Do not undersell yourself, but stay realistic for your experience and the market — and remember to compare net, not just gross.
