What a nurse is paid (2026)

Across job ads for January–August 2026 the median nurse salary is 3.82 million som and the average 4.05 million; August alone had a 4.0 million median, which was also the most common figure that month. These are employer offers, mostly from private clinics, and they usually describe an entry rate for a nurse without a category.

The official average for healthcare and social care is 4.44 million som (H1 2026), but that is the whole sector, doctors included. The ads sit below it because private clinics post most vacancies and tend to hire nurses at the starting rate.

Nurses in state medicine: what changed in 2026

In a state clinic a nurse is paid by grade: grades 2 to 5 depending on qualification category, with operating and intensive-care nurses one grade higher. The grade coefficient is multiplied by the minimum wage — 1,360,000 som from 1 September 2026, when budget-sector pay rose 7% (decree UP-115) — and by an uplift of 1.1 (no category or second) or 1.15 (first or highest) under decree UP-136. One full position in an outpatient clinic, gross (no category / second / first / highest):

Supplements for a degree and the Medical Workers’ Day bonus

A nurse with higher education gets 10% on top of the tariff rate today (Cabinet resolution No. 276, item 23¹). From 1 January 2027 monthly supplements begin (decree UP-191 of 10 September 2026): one minimum wage for nurses and male nurses with a bachelor’s degree (1,360,000 som at today’s level) and two for a master’s (2,720,000 som). A 100% supplement was discussed at a meeting with the president in November 2025, but the decree that was signed sets these amounts instead.

For Medical Workers’ Day — the second Sunday of November, 8 November in 2026 — everyone employed by a state medical institution receives a bonus of one minimum wage, 1,360,000 som, from this year (resolution PQ-336 of 9 November 2025). Since 1 January 2026 staff of state clinics that have passed national accreditation also get 10% on their salary.

Pilot districts and the whole of Samarkand region run a new pay system (decree UP-88): a senior nurse’s base is 3.81 minimum wages (5,181,600 som) and mid-level staff get 3.46 (4,705,600 som), while mid-level salaries in district central hospitals were raised 10%. A nurse in a private clinic

The 3.8–4 million in the ads is the private market: a fixed salary, a shift schedule and, in larger clinics, a bonus tied to workload. The spread is narrower than for doctors because there is no percentage per patient — a nurse earns more through extra shifts, a higher category or a move to a better-paying clinic.

There is no separate statistic for nurses in the capital, but Tashkent averages 12.01 million som, 1.7 times the national figure, and private clinics are concentrated there, so offers run above the regions.
